                 Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal is one of the most famous landmarks in Russia. The lake is situated in Southern Siberia. It is the world’s largest freshwater lake. It holds a fifth of the world’s unfrozen fresh water. It is also the deepest lake in the world. Besides, it is considered the oldest lake on our planet. Lake Baikal is home to over 1700 species of both animals and plants. In 1996 the lake was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Озеро Байкал — одна из самых известных достопримечательностей России. Озеро находится в Южной Сибири. Это крупнейшее в мире пресноводное озеро. Оно содержит пятую часть незамерзшей пресной воды в мире. Это также самое глубокое озеро в мире. Кроме того, оно считается самым старым озером на нашей планете. Байкал является домом для более чем 1700 видов животных и растений. В 1996 году озеро было включено в список Всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО.
