P.S. Как я понимаю, у вас затруднение с различением Past Simple и Past Perfect. Но ведь в этом нет ничего сложного! Просто обращайте внимание на порядок происхождения событий. Ну, а саму формулировку правила, я думаю, вы и так знаете.
