   Secondary education begins in  the country at the age of 12. Most pupils go to state comprehensive schools. The education is free. Pupils usually have 5 lessons 5 days a week from Monday to Friday.   Secondary school pupils have 12 subjects a week. They have 2 long breaks after the first and the second lessons. At 4 o'clock classes are usually over.   The English school year has 3 terms. After each term schoolchildren have holidays - Christmas, Easter and summer holidays. Summer holidays begin in July and are over in September.
