Addressing Joan familiarly, she said: ”I want a record – one I have heard on the radio this morning.” Joan asked: ”What is the record called?” The women shook her head and said: ”I don`t remember though I will know it if I hear it.” She asked Joan: ”Will you play me any?” Joan pointed out: ”We have hundreds of records in stock and it will take a very long time to play you a little of each.” The woman looked very unhappy, but suddenly her face brightened. She had just remembered something, she said: ”The music I want comes from a play in which there is a woman who speaks very badly, but who after a time learns to talk beautifully. “ Joan asked: “Can it be from “My Fair Lady”?” The woman cried out: “Yes, it is!” She said: ”I`m sorry that you didn`t think of it earlier instead of wasting time asking silly questions. She supposed: “Are you new to the job?”
