Elvis Presley is an American singer and actor, one of the most commercially successful performers of popular music of the 20th century. In America Presley was nicknamed "the king of rock'n'roll". He popularized rock'n'roll, although he wasn't the first performer of this genre. Nevertheless, he blended country and blues, giving birth to rockabilly, which marked his first recordings on Sun Records in the mid-1950s. Adding the elements of gospel and variety in his style, Presley went beyond the rockabilly and reached global popularity.
