  • In 1655 12-year-old Newton was sent to school at a nearby school in Grantham where he lived in the house of chemist Clark. Soon the boy showed outstanding ability, but in 1659 the mother, Hannah, brought him back to the manor and tried to lay on a 16 year old son part of the Affairs concerning the management of the economy. The attempt was not a success — Isaac preferred to all other classes, reading books, poetry and especially the construction of various mechanisms.
  • At this time, Anna asked Stokes, a school teacher of Newton, and began to persuade her to continue studying unusually gifted son; this request was joined by uncle William and grantski friend Isaac (a relative of the Apothecary Clark) Humphrey Babington, member of the Cambridge Trinity College. The combined efforts, they eventually succeeded. In 1661 Newton successfully graduated from high school and went to continue their education at the University of Cambridge
