A school football team needed a new football pitch because the old one never dried out. But instead of making a new pitch on the school grounds the workmen went to Upton Wood and started marking the trees. They wanted to cut down the trees. A few schoolchildren saw this and decided to go to the building company to find out about their plans. The children wanted to have a new football pitch but they knew it was bad to cut down the trees.
