The white bear, or polar bear, is a predatory mammal of the bear family, a close relative of the brown bear. The largest land predator of the planet.

White bears live in the Arctic Ocean, near the North Pole. Interestingly, they never lived in Antarctica, although there is enough food and just as much snow and ice. Polar bears never slip on ice. Rough skin and wool on the soles of the paws provide them grip on the ice.
