In 1599, the actors of the troupe "Servants of the Lord Chamberlain" decided on their own to create a public theater, as the lease term of the building used by them expired. William Shakespeare, the playwright of the troupe, was one of the shareholders of the construction. The theater was built outside the privileged area of the city, according to the order of puritanical London authorities.
