Monument Петру1 the Official name — Monument "To commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Russian fleet". The author of the monument is Zurab Tsereteli. The grandiose sculptural composition was installed on an artificial island on Strelka, at the confluence of the Moskva river and the Obvodny canal, not far from the famous confectionery factory Krasny Oktyabr. The opening of the monument was timed to the celebration of the 850 anniversary of Moscow. The total height of the monument is 98 meters, it is the highest monument in Russia, and one of the highest in the world.
