Я тут в спешке кое-что упустил в первом предложении, должно быть так: He has been a permanent member of the State Duma since its first session.

He is a permanent member of the State Duma. He is now in opposition. He is the leader of his own political party. He is a lawyer by education. He thinks that polygamy should be legalized. He enjoys the support of some 5% of the electorate. He washes his feet in the Indian Ocean. Sometimes he behaves inadequately.
