My best holiday in the countryside was in a small village in the south of France. The location was absolutely stunning, with rolling hills, fields of lavender, and charming houses with red tiled roofs. I loved the peaceful atmosphere and the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I went with my family, and we spent most of our time exploring the local area, hiking through the countryside, and trying out all of the delicious local food and wine. We also visited a few nearby towns and villages, and even went on a boat trip along the river. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, and I couldn't have asked for a better holiday.:

My name is Ilya and I’m 13 years old. My family and I live in a busy city with the population over one million people. Every day we have to use public transport to get to work and to school. At the rush hours it becomes simply unbearable.

We are glad that our grandparents live in the countryside. Although it’s not far from the city, it still feels much better there. I love spending time in the countryside. I know that there are certain advantages and disadvantages of living there.

For example, if you are allergic to some plants, it would be difficult to live in green areas. Other than that, if you are a fan of fast-paced life, you won’t like the slow motion of country. Another disadvantage is the shortage of jobs and low salaries in such areas. On top of that, there aren’t many interesting things to do there, such as going to the cinema, restaurant, museum or theatre.

However, I find many other interesting activities in the countryside. Whenever I’m there, I go fishing with my granddad, I ride a bike as much as I want, and I go swimming in the lake with local boys and girls. I also admire the breathtaking landscapes of rural areas. I like seeing peaceful hills and forests, instead of traffic jams and gloomy skyscrapers. Another advantage is my grandparents’ garden. They grow lots of vegetables and fruit there, so we don’t need to buy such produce. They also have their own chickens and rabbits. What I really like about the countryside is the absence of any kind of robbery or burglary. In general, it’s peaceful and quiet there.

If I were to choose between the city life and countryside, I’d choose the latter.
