Проверьте мое задание. Нужно было составить 5 предложений чтобы было 2 временные формы past simple и past continuous

1.The lab assistnt was condacting experiment when I saw a error in his calculation.
2. She was cooking dinner for all family when  her friend came to her.
3. When Mike teaching homework, Fred called him.
4.I was traveling in thebus when the accident happened.
5.The water froze in the lake while the weather was cold

спасибо, вот еще хотела спросить, вот в 5-м предложении ....the weather was cold это можно как continuous понимать? или это сипл
