There are lots of ways of communication today. You don't need to wait for few days to receive a letter from your friend anymore. Now you can chat with him by Skype or ICQ, talk to him by the phone or just send sms. But my favourite way of communication is an usual spending time with my friend. Because then I can see his face, his emotions, I can touch him. It is not a simulation of conversation, it is a conversation. And it's much more interesting. That's why I prefer this type of communication.
