1 Small groups of people, like the Mayflower emigrants were the founders of the firstBritish settlements in America2 The rules introduced by the British Parliament did not let American colonies trade with other nations. More over colonies had to pay duty on products brought from Britain, such as tea.3 Late in 1773 colonies decided that the tea duty was not going to be paid and that the tea from Britain was not going to be landed4 Late at night 50 Boston men climbed three British ships and threw the boxes of tea into water5 American people who wanted to fight for their rights were called Patriots.6 The Continental Congress is a meeting which was called by colonies to discuss the relations with Britain. It was held in Philadelphia, in September, 1774.
