The Apartment Building
       Kim lives on the first floor of this building on Broad Street. It’sa noisy building from 7:00 to 8:00 every morning because everybodyis getting ready for work.
           Michael lives alone in the big apartment on the third floor. He’ssingle, and he goes to parties every night, so he wakes up late everymorning. He drives to work at 8:00, but he’s always late and alwaysin a hurry. His feet make noise on the stairs.
       Susan and Paul are a young married couple. They live on the secondfloor. They leave at 8:00 a.m., too. Susan is a secretary in asmall office near her apartment. She walks to work and enjoys theexercise. Paul works in a factory about fifteen miles from theirhome. He drives the car.
        Kim and Don live on the first floor with their two sons, Jasonand Todd. They have a car, but Don takes the bus to work. His officeis only fifteen-minute bus ride away. Jason and Todd walk toschool together. Kim waves good-bye to them.
          At 8:00, everything is quiet. Kim is alone. She has peace andquiet. Now, she can draw and paint. Kim is an artist.
