Our family is an ordinary one.
My father works as a programmer.
Of course, he receives money for his work but some of his money he pays as
contributions
to the
National Insurance fund.
Then when he becomes a pensioner he will have a
state or
retirement
pension according to his payments.
My mother doesn't work now because she is pregnant.
So she receives a
maternity allowance that is money that a pregnant
woman gets from an employer and a
maternity pay the money she receives
from the state.
As a child I am entitled to a
child benefit .
My grandfather is now a pensioner. So he can
claim a
mobility
allowance, and maybe we will have a new car soon.
Last week I was ill so my mother had to send for an
emergency doctor.
He examined me and said that I must be taken to a hospital.
Some people say that our
Health Service doesn’t work well but in my case
I can’t complain.
