Чтобы задать общий вопрос (то есть вопрос, на который отвечают "да" или "нет"), нужно поставить вспомогательный глагол перед подлежащим.

Your hairbrush is on the table.  - Is your hairbrush on the table?

He's my best friend.  - Is he my best friend?

They are very friendly.  - Are they very friendly?

She's (=she is) short and plump and she's (=she has) got grey hair.  - Is she short and plump? Has she got grey hair?

I like swimming and playing the guitar in my free time.  - Do I like swimming and playing the guitar in my free time? (Это время Present Simple: для вопросов и отрицаний используется вспомогательный глагол do / does)

My mum is thirty-five and my dad is forty. - Is my mum thirty-five? Is my dad forty?

Если нужны специальные вопросы, то можно задать такие:

Your hairbrush is on the table.  - Where is your hairbrush?

He's my best friend.  - Who is my best friend?

They are very friendly.  - Who is very friendly?

She's (=she is) short and plump and she's (=she has) got grey hair.  - What does she look like? (Как она выглядит?)

I like swimming and playing the guitar in my free time.  - What do I like doing in my free time? (Что я люблю делать в свободное время?)
