Musician of the late Baroque period, George Frederick Handel was born in Germany, but almost all of his adult life spent in England. He successfully joined the German, French, Italian and English styles of music in 40 operas, 20 oratorios, numerous vocal fragments of instrumental works and church music. Handel was born on February 23, 1685 in Halle in Saxony. He was appointed organist in Halle, he moved to Hamburg in the following year, where he received the post of violinist in the opera orchestra.
