I’m writing in response to your advertisement in yesterday’s Daily News. I would like to apply for the job of a waitress.

I am **(возраст) years old and I live in ****(город0 which is a small town in eastern ******(страна). I have been studying English for nine years. I can read, translate, understand and speak a little German.

I would like to say why I think I can manage to do the job. First of all, English is my favourite subject and I have been getting good marks at school. I always take part in different language contests, conferences, Olympiads and debates, on the Internet as well. I also helped to organize class trips at my school and worked at a local museum during the summer holidays. I feel I need to practise what I have already learnt in real situations. Moreover, I’m very interested in dealing with people and I’m quite sociable and disciplined. So, I wouldn’t have any difficulty communicating with visitors. In addition, I have a little experience of dealing with children. (I helped our leaders in a school camp) One more reason for wishing to apply for the job is that I would very much like to expand my own knowledge of English.

I enclose a letter of reference from my English teacher. I hope you will give my application careful consideration.
