Considering national holidays both in Great Britain and in Ukraine we can take only few of them that are common, for example, New Year, Easter and Christmas. International Women’s day is a national holiday in Ukraine. Britains do celebrate the holiday, too, but it is a working day in the country.There are four more banking holidays additionally to the three common national holidays in Great Britain. During the last one in November there is the biggest European carnival with almost 1 million participants in the street: dancing salsa, singing and eating Caribbean food. Unlike that Ukrainians make small festivals and concerts. But we cannot exaggerate of any big festival or carnival.It is not so popular in Ukraine but well known to celebrate Mother’s Day. It is a very important day in England, Scotland and Ireland.Ukrainian women make small presents and greeting cards to their men: fathers, husbands, sons and fathers-in-law on the 14-th of October on Cassaks Day. It is national holiday in our country and we spend it with our families at home. Britains have the same holiday but it is on the third Sunday in June and it is not a day off in Great Britain. But tradition is alike.Anyway, the traditions of every holidays differ in Ukraine and in Great Britain. But we certainly have in common sharing love with close people every day, and any holiday gives us a motive to show it twice. This is the way of making any grey routine a holiday even without a cause.
