In accordance with the British tradition of a parliamentary monarchy, Elizabeth II performs mostly representative functions, with little or no influence on the governance of the country. However, during her reign, she successfully supports the authority of the British monarchy. Her duties include visiting various countries with diplomatic visits, receiving ambassadors, meeting with high-ranking government officials (especially the prime minister), reading annual messages to parliament, awarding, knighting. Also the queen watches the main British newspapers daily and responds with the help of servants to some letters, which she is sent out in huge quantities (200-300 pieces daily). In this case, there is a practice that every day a few letters are chosen at random and read out to the queen, and in this case she personally dictates the answers to them.
