The Nile is no longer the longest river in the world. Several years ago the first place took the Amazon river, which is also the largest river by discharge volume at the same time. The Amazon river flows in South America. The basin of the river contains national parks and reserves, protected by the law of the country.  Along the entire length of the whole river there are giant tropical forests - known as the richest tropical forests in the world: about one-third of all species in the world inhabit the territory of the Amazon basin.
