David Brower is an American defender of wildlife, environmentalist, founder of several environmental organizations, including Friends of the Earth, League of Conservation Voters, North Cascades Conservation Council and Earth Conferences. Brower was born in Berkeley, California in 1912. Largely due to his efforts in 1964, the Law on Wildlife was passed. David Brower is the author and compiler of many books about wildlife protection, the organizer of the first American conferences of wildlife conservancy, which played an important role in developing the ideology of wildlife conservation. He took part in the creation of a dozen of national parks in the United States; he was succeeded in lifting the construction of dams in the Grand Canyon National Park and the National Monument \"Dinosaurs\" (Colorado). David Brower believed that the protection of wildlife is a kind of religion, an ethic in relation to the Earth.
