I live in Kazan. Kazan was founded at least one thousand years ago. This city was the capital of the Kazan Khanate in the 15th century. Then the troops of Ivan the Terrible in 1552 liberated the city and 8,000 Russian slaves. Tatars were relocated to the swampy shores of Lake Kaban. In 1708 Kazan became the capital of the vast Kazan province. In 2005 was solemnly celebrated the millenium of Kazan. I am proud of the history of my native city.
