Person I am proud of is Nelson Mandela. He is a South African civil rights leader, who later became the president of South Africa. He fought against Apartheid, which were a violent and racist regime established in South Africa by a white minority. Black people had no rights for education and political activity, and could not live in the cities. Nelson Mandela spent twenty seven years in jail for fighting for a right cause, and resisting the regime of racial segregation and discrimination. I think he is a really inspiring individual!
