Vitebsk is a beautiful city on the banks of three rivers: the Western Dvina, the Vitba and the Luchesa. Vitebsk has a very long history. It was founded in 974 by Princess Olga of Kiev.The suffered greatly during the World War II - it was ruined almost completely. Only 118 people survived the war from about 170,000 of population.

Vitebsk was reconstructed and now it is a wonderful city with theatres and museums, galleries and hospitals, factories and plants, and schools and universities.
