Past Simple is used for past action. It is formed with the help of -ed for regular verbs, e.g. to invite – invited, to listen – listened.

Interrogative is formed with the help of auxiliary verb to do, which takes the past tense – did.

Negative is formed did + not + verb(Infinitive).
