School education in the UK is one of the most prestigious in Europe. Elementary school begins from 5 years old. Then in 11-12 years begins secondary school. After that most students move from public to private schools. There are almost 4,000 private schools in the UK today. Many other schools are boarding schools. In them, students attend lessons and live in there. Education lasts up to 18 years, after which a graduate can go to University.
