1. The total area of the Russian Federation is more than seventeen  million kilometers. 2. There is hardly another country in the world with such diverse flora and fauna. 3. The lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world and is the pride of the Russians. 4. There are 11 time zones on the territory of the Russian Federation. 5. Russia is a constitutional Republic with a presidential form of government. 6. The legislative power belongs to the Federal Assembly, which consists of two chambers. 7. In the Russian Parliament there are such parties as Unity, Communist party, Fatherland All Russia, Yabloko, SPS and LDPR. 8. The legislative and judicial branches do not subordinate directly to the President.
