Board games are very popular all over the world. They have a long history. Ancient people didn\'t have modern devices and even TV or a radio. So they invented board games for fun and relaxing. At first, activities were quite primitive, but now there is a great variety of this kind of entertainment. Traditionally Russian people like chess, checkers, backgammon, snakes and ladders. For playing chess players need a special checked board and lots of counters, black and white. The aim is to beat the king counter. It is sometimes a very difficult task, and a person should be quite smart and ingenious. In checkers competitors have to beat their opponent\'s counters. As for me, I like snakes and ladders most of all. For this game you should have a board, some counters and a dice. Players throw the dice and move on the squares. The goal is to reach the finish first.
