 The snake is a reptile that crawls on the ground, because it does not have legs to walk. They are found on every continent except Antarctica. The body of snakes can be short and thick, long and thin. The skin of snakes is covered with scales, the amount and shape of which depends on the type of reptile. Some snakes are poisonous, but non-poisonous are represented by a larger number of species. Poisonous snakes use poison for hunting, in order to kill the victim, and not for self-defense. The poison of some species is strong enough to kill a person.
