Прошедшая (вторая) форма правильных глаголов образуется так:

основа глагола + -ed: talk + ed = talked

Эта форма используется в the Past Simple Tense.

В группе Continuous три времени (Future, Present, Past) и соответственно три формы – the Future Continuous, the Present Continuous, the Past Continuous. При образовании этих форм используется общая для Continuous формула:

be + Ving

the Future Continuous: will be Ving;

the Present Continuous: am/is/are + Ving;

the Past Continuous: was/were + Ving.

Формы глагола to stay:

The Past Simple: stayed;

The Future Continuous: will be staying;

The Present Continuous: am/is/are staying;

The Past Continuous: was/were staying.
