  • Rhinoceros is a member of the family of equeripopic land animals. At the moment there are five species of rhinos: white, black (live in Africa), Indian (India), Sumatran (Sumatra is the most ancient of species and the rarest) and Javanese (Java). This is a very massive animal with thick and short legs. The name of this animal is derived from the presence of a horn, which is located on the nose. Because of this horns the animals were on the verge of extinction. Poachers kill them for sale, usually to China. There it is believed that it has healing properties. Now the rhinos are under protection and in the reserves they immediately cut off the horn, because without it the animal no longer is needed to poachers. But not always protective measures help. In March 2018, the last white rhinoceros died in nature. So this view, unfortunately, is doomed to extinction.
