  • Traditionally, at first, in the Kazakh cuisine guests got a \"kumys\". This is a dairy drink made from mare’s milk. It is given to quench thirst. 

    The most popular national meal is \"besbarmak\". It is the main dish of the Kazakh cuisine and means \"five fingers\", and people eat this meal with hands. Besbarmak is cooked with a horse meat and shurpa, cooked broth with meat, vegetables and spices. During and after the meal guests got tea with milk.

    Earlier Kazakh \"table\" was based on meat and dairy products. Later it was enriched with vegetables, fruits, fish dishes and sweets.
