Wales is one of the four countries that enter Great Britain. The Welsh themselves call their country Cumry. The capital of Wales is Cardiff. The country’s neighbors are England and the seas. The population of the country is just over 3 million people. Once this country was inhabited by various tribes of Britons. The most significant were Ordovics and Silurians. Then, like all of Britain, Wales survived the Roman conquest, then the Norman Conquest. After they left this territory, many small kingdoms formed there. But already in the 13th century Wales was conquered by England. Since the country is surrounded by seas, the climate here is maritime. Administratively, Wales is divided into 22 counties. The main sport for the Welsh is not football, but rugby. The main sectors of the economy are non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy, agriculture, and the petroleum industry.
