WE (to see) an interesing film yesteday

The Past Indefinite Tense shows an action which took place in the past. The action is not connected with present. The Past Indefinite Tense is used with such adverbs as yesterday, ago, last year, in 1985, etc. So the right tense is \"We saw an interesting film yesterday\".
