  • Jackson’s song.

    The teacher’s map.

    The boy’s shoes.

Possessive case, singular nouns. We add “s” after the apostrophe.

    An actor – actors. [z]

    A deer – deer.

    A pen – pens. [z]

    A boot – boots. [s]

    An elephant – elephants. [s]

Plural form. We add the ending “s” to nouns. It is pronounced as [z] after vowels or voiced consonants. It is pronounced as [s] after voiceless consonants. The exception is “deer”, in plural we do not add “s” (the same with “sheep”). We use the indefinite article “an”, when the noun that goes after it starts from the vowel.
