  • The largest island in the world is Greenland. Its territory is 2 130 800 square kilometers. There are about 57,000 people live in Greenland. But the most part of the island is inhabited as the territory is covered by glaciers. The native people of the island - Eskimos are engaged in fishing, reindeer and sheep breeding, and oil production.  The first Europeans settled here in 875. Greenland belongs to Denmark. About twenty thousand tourists come here every year because tourism is very developed there.
