Every year in the end of February Russians have a great one-week festival. It is celebrated all around the world wherever are Russians live, even in Australia, and it has become iconic for Russian culture. In Russia this festival is like farewell to long Russian winter when people are cheering coming spring. This is why the main symbol of festival is the sun. During festival people are dancing special semi-ritual dances standing in a big circle around scarecrow that personify passed Winter, also people are baking traditional Russian pancakes and coming over their friends and relatives.
