Each nation has its own holiday tradition. Our country isn`t an exception. I think that New Year is probably the most popular holiday here. It is the day when all families gather to share happiness with each other.

The preparation usually begins several days before the holiday. Christmas tree is set up in every house. Children write letters to Santa Claus asking for presents. On December 31 we cook delicious meal. After that we serve the table and wait for guests to come. At midnight people drink a glass of champagne and make a wish according to the tradition. Finally, all members of the family unwrap the gifts and exchange greetings.
