If they now eat half as much food as they did before, how long can they survive?

Because 1 day 1 man eats 1/30000

1 day 1000 men eat 1/30 of food

after 16 days 600 men have 16/30 parts of food

if they eat half food, so 600 men eat 600/60000 of food

14/30 ÷ 600/60000= 46,6 days
