The development of international law in the field of environmental protection is mainly a contractual way. International agreements on environmental protection are necessary for effective coherent environmental protection and their legal regulation. To date, there are more than 500 international treaties on environmental protection. International environmental agreements can be: multilateral, regional and universal-global, treaties that regulate general issues of protecting the environment or some particular environmental objects.
