I do at the technical college in Zhodino. It's not a big town .Zhodino is
about 50 km away from Minsk. It is situated at the crossroads of all routes from
west to east and that is why it developed rapidly at the second half of the 20th
century.
Before the Second World War Zhodino was a small railway station and there
wasn't much life there. But just alter the war an electric power station was built in
this place. Then the construction of an automobile plant began in Zhodino. When
the construction was finished a lot of workers and engineers came to live there
Schools, kinder gardens, hospitals and entertainment centres appeared here.
The station grew quickly. In 1963 Zhodino became a town. The population of
Zhodino is about 84,000 people.
Most of our citizens work at an Automobile plant, a textile factory, a
Blacksmith's plant, two Scientific Research institutes. Electric Power Station and
other enterprises.
There are 9 secondary schools, about 30 kinder gardens, a Music school, an
Art school, 3 sport schools in Zhodino.
There are a lot of opportunities to spend free time in our town. We have a
stadium and 2 sport centres, parks and squares for walks. Besides there are many
forests around the town where we can get berries and mushrooms. If the weather is
warm you can swim in the river Plissa. I think Zhodino is a nice town and it has
everything necessary for comfortable living.
