Saint Petersburg is the cultural center of Russia and one of its most inspiring cities. Peter the Great founded the city in 1703. Saint Petersburg became the window to Europe. Nowadays Saint Petersburg is known as an important transport and industrial city. There are a lot of temples and churches located there. A lot of circles and squares one could see there: Senate Square, Palace Square, St. Isaac\'s Square, etc. You can find Alexander Column on Palace Square and popular Peter the Great Monument on Senate Square. There are a lot of museums such as the Winter Palace, the Kunstkammer and the Smolny Cathedral. But the most famous one is the State Hermitage Museum. That museum is the oldest museum in the world and it has the largest collection of paintings and it was founded by Catherine the Great in 1754. Also, you can find many sculptures and prints there. Saint Petersburg is also famous by its white nights. A lot of festivals are held in this time. Many of those people who once visited the city want visit it again because it has glorious and historical atmosphere.
