There are two ways to form degrees of comparison of adjectives. Usually, if a word is short, no longer than two syllables, we add suffixes - ER for the comparative degree and - EST for the superlative degree. For longer words, we use more for the comparative degree  and most for the comparative degree. Examples: The painting of my sister is more beautiful than the picture of my friend. However, this painting in the corner is the most beautiful, I like it a lot. This is the most industrious pupil in the class.
