Saber-toothed tigers can be called the most famous prehistoric mammals. These extinct animals had strong forelimbs and very long upper teeth (about 28 cm). These tigers were extremely big and dangerous, they could weight to 400 kg. Being so huge, they needed much food so they usually hunted bison and mammoths. The largest species appeared on our planet about a million years ago and died out about 10 000 years ago.
