Big Ben - a historic building which is known not only in the capital of Great Britain but also all over the world. The original tower was built by Charles Barry, a famous architect. But its name the tower received in honor of Benjamin Hall – the man who led the construction of Big Ben. He was quite a large and tall man, so he was often called Big Ben. In 1859, when Big Ben was built, there was a launch of the clock and since that time the famous clock has shown the most accurate time in the UK.
