The film Salyut-7 is based on real events of 1985, when several heroically courageous Soviet cosmonaut pilots tried to save the Salyut-7 orbital station from falling to Earth. The station was in the Earth\'s orbit in an unmanned state, but one day it suddenly stopped responding to signals from the planet sent from the flight control center. The authorities decided to send a rescue expedition to find the station, as well as make a unique docking operation.

The brave pilots do not have many chances to return alive to their homeland, but there is nowhere to retreat: they needed not simply find Salyut-7, who lost his orbit. They needed to bring his devices back to normal, \"resurrect\" the station and try to control it to prevent a catastrophe.
