  I’d like to tell about my favourite holiday. It is New Year ’s Day. My family likes celebrating this holiday very much. We decorate our house with garlands, tinsel and paper snowflakes. New Year’s  tree is the main decoration in the house. I and my sister hang  toys, stars, lights and sweets on the tree. Mother cooks tasty dishes such as pelmeny, roast chicken, salad “Olivie” and raspberry cake with cream.  In New Year’s Eve gathering together around the table we eat, drink and have fun. We congratulate each other and give gifts. Watching TV we listen to our president’s speech.  At 12 o’clock we go out and start fireworks.  Everyone is happy and glad. It’s great!
